A mother who gave birth to her baby son in the car park of Chiswick Police Station has honoured the officers by giving her son a special name.

Baby Bobby and his mother have visited the police station in Hounslow to thank the staff for their help after a dramatic birth experience.

Rebecca Fox was being driven home by her mum, having been discharged from a west London hospital at around 5am on Thursday (June 22) after not going into labour.

Suddenly, Rebecca told her mum to turn the car around and head back to the hospital - the baby was coming.

Moments after passing Chiswick Town Hall, Rebecca could feel the baby's head, so her mum had to pull into the car park of Chiswick Police Station and frantically call for help.

Police staff member Jacky Brosnan heard the pleas and grabbed Fulham officer PC Holly Foran to try and help.

"I heard a lady outside in the car park shouting, so I looked out of the window and there was another younger woman in the car with her feet on the dashboard. It looked like she might be having a baby," said Jacky.

"I ran down and grabbed a police officer who was walking up the stairs, we ran out. Within two minutes a baby boy was born.

"Fortunately, just at that moment, a doctor walked by and asked if all was okay."

As the doctor gave mother and child a once-over, Jacky grabbed supplies for them from a nearby shop.

London Ambulance Service came by and picked up the pair, with Rebecca deciding to honour her helpers and call her newborn boy Bobby.

"It was a beautiful start to the morning," said Jacky.

Both Rebecca and baby Bobby are doing well.
