Some of the most dangerous drivers on the roads in Britain are from Hillingdon according to data from the Department for Transport.

An analysis by getwestlondon on the number of penalty points drivers have on their licences has revealed a whopping 11% of motorists with a driver’s licence in the UB9 postcode area of Hillingdon have at least one penalty point.

This was the highest of any west London postcode, making the people of Harefield the worst drivers in this part of London.

There are around 200 motorists currently with 12 points or more on their licences with drivers in postcodes HA8 which covers Harrow ; Brent and Barnet; TW9 in Richmond; and UB1 which covers Southall in Ealing, holding a staggering 21 points.

By law, anybody who gets 12 points on their licence within a three-year period gets a six-month driving ban, which can increase up to two years if it is not their first ban.

After Harefield, the UB7 postcode district of Hillingdon - covering West Drayton, Harmondsworth, Sipson, Yiewsley and Longford - and UB10 postcode area of Hillingdon and Ickenham - had the highest number of motorists with points on their licences at 6.7%.

Other boroughs to make it into the top 10 percentage of drivers with points included Hounslow.

At the other end of the scale the W2 postcode which covers parts of Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea including Paddington; Bayswater and parts of Notting Hill, is home to the best drivers in west London with just 2.9% of licence holders holding a penalty point.

The DfT data unveiled a total of 2.8 million drivers with at least one penalty point on their licence out of 46.3 million people holding a licence - equivalent to 6.1% of drivers.

The worst postcode in the country was PH39 which covers the Arisaig area in the Scottish Highlands, where a whopping 15% of drivers have points on their licence.

Concerning figures also revealed as many as 8,594 motorists have 12 or more points on their licence with Britain’s worst two drivers, in Liverpool and Basildon, Essex, holding an almost unbelievable 51 points each.
