More prominent members have visited the Polish Centre in Hammersmith which was daubed with xenophobic graffiti at the weekend.

Lib Dem leader Tim Farron and the party’s London Assembly member Caroline Pidgeon visited the Polish Social and Cultural Association (PSOK) in King Street today (June 30) as part of a series of outreach initiatives in the wake of racist attacks after the EU referendum.

Their visit comes 24 hours after the Polish ambassador Witold Sobków was joined by Communities Minister Baroness Williams of Trafford and Minister for Countering Extremism Lord Ahmad at the centre.

During their visit, Mr Farron and Ms Pidgeon met with PSOK chairman Joanna Mludzinska and Kryssie Bell, chairman of the Cultural Committee.

Police appealed for witnesses after a vile message was discovered painted onto the front of the building on June 26.

Since then, other members of the community have come together to offer support and friendship to the Polish community.
