Four fire engines and 21 firefighters tackled a fire in an Ealing bakery with flats above it on Monday morning (September 4).

At around 11.26am, London Fire Brigade was called to reports of a blaze in the London Sangaki bakery on Leeland Road.

Firefighters from Ealing, Acton , Southall and Hammersmith fire stations were at the scene and had the fire under control by 1.06pm.

The fire, at a shop which has a number of flats above it, led to three residents leaving their homes before the crews arrived.

A spokesperson from London Fire Brigade said: "There was a small blaze in a ceiling cavity between the ground and first floors of the building and half of the ducting was damaged.

"Three people left the building before the arrival of the Brigade.

"The cause of the fire is not known at this stage."

At the time of the blaze, officers from Met Police urged members of the public to avoid Leeland Road and Leeland Terrace during the "police incident".

A spokesperson for the Met Police added: "We were called by the London Fire Brigade at 11.54hrs on Monday, 04 September to reports of a fire at a property in Leeland Road, Ealing.

"The fire is not being treated as suspicious."
