A 79-year-old man who has been missing from hospital since Thursday (August 19) may be in the Westminster or Kensington and Chelsea areas, police have said.

Shirley Smith, who suffers from dementia, diabetes and schizophrenia left the Whittingdon Hospital

in north London at around 8pm.

Mr Smith did not have his medication when he left the hospital.

He was taken to the hospital on Friday July 22 after he was found wandering the streets.

Police say Mr Smith is known to frequent the Lewisham, Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea areas.

He is described as a black man, 5ft 8ins tall with grey hair and was last seen wearing a black shirt and black trousers.

Anyone with information as to Mr Smith's whereabouts are asked to contact police on the non-emergency 101 number.
