Last weekend saw the capital battered by high winds and torrential downpours but the miserable weather has not marked the end of the summer as another heatwave is on its way .

While Monday (August 22) is set to remain cloudy and breezy, temperatures are expected to soar to 30 degrees on Tuesday with just a light wind.

A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "[Monday night] dry with variable amounts of cloud and a few clears spells. Feeling rather humid with light winds.

"[Tuesday] dry with a fair amount of cloud early on, with some fog likely in some places. Then, becoming quickly very warm and sunny across all areas with light winds. Maximum temperature 29 to 30 degrees."
