A serving member of the Metropolitan Special Constabulary (MSC) has been jailed after admitting the sexual assault of a child.
28-year-old special sergeant Craig Keane pleaded guilty to nine counts of sexual assault of a child under the age of 13 at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Monday, February 20.
Keane was charged on January 27, following an investigation by the Sexual Offences Exploitation and Child Abuse Command.
He was jailed for two years on March 20, and ordered to serve ten years on the Sex Offenders Register.
He was also issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for an indefinite time period.
MSC officer's are unpaid and the role is voluntary.
During the process, Keane was suspended as a Special and his case will be subject to a Special Case Hearing, the outcome of which, will be considered by the hearing panel.
