A Kensington and Chelsea officer has been dismissed from the Metropolitan Police after he pleaded guilty to two counts of making an indecent photograph of a child.

PC Roberto Rossi, 38, was formally dismissed on December 14 following a special case hearing.

On August 25, PC Rossi appeared at Oxford Magistrates' Court and pleaded guilty to two counts of making an indecent photo/pseudo photograph of a child.

On September 29, he was sentenced at the same court to a two-year community order with supervision, ordered to attend 20 sessions of an internet sex offenders programme and to pay £160 in court costs.

The officer faced allegations that his conduct amounted to a breach of the standards of professional behaviour in respect of discreditable conduct.

The chair found the allegations came under gross misconduct.
