The Met Office has issued a severe weather warnings for the west London area for Wednesday (June 8) afternoon.
The yellow warning of rain means the Met Office believes scattered heavy, perhaps thundery, showers are expected to develop.
The Met Office is also asking people to be aware of the risk of localised flooding as a result of the weather as well as the potential of lightening strikes up until 8pm on Wednesday.
According to the chief forecaster's assessment, "where showers do occur they are likely to be heavy and slow-moving, leading to surface water on roads and difficult driving conditions. Lightning may also be a hazard."
Both the Met Office and the Environment Agency will continue to monitor the situation and will provide regular updates.
