A keen runner from Fulham who was bored of pounding through the same streets of the capital has set himself the challenge of running through every road in central London.

Costin Boldisor wants to complete the unusual task by the end of the year, and is confident he will be able to pull it off.

The route includes the whole of Zone 1 and parts of Zone 2,and is taking the 31-year-old through the City of London, Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham and other boroughs.

The IT worker is unsure what distance he must cover to complete the challenge, but says he must run 20,000 streets in total.

He said: “I started at the end of February outside Stamford Bridge because I’m a Chelsea fan and so far I’ve run 5,000 streets, and around 750km (466 miles).”

The IT man, who works from offices in Paddington and Reading and is keeping a blog of his exploits which is laden with beautiful images of London, says his challenge has been a welcome education: “It all started from the fact I was running the same three or four routes every week.

“I was getting bored of running and seeing the same things so I wanted to go visit other places because London is such a great city and it has so much history. I’m learning a lot about the city as I run through it, and any interesting things I come across I post on my blog.

“I’ve discovered a lot of places, discovering lots of nice things I haven’t seen or noticed before. My eyes are more open as to what London has to offer, and it’s pretty addictive.”

Costin has been blogging and photographing the sights during his runs. Here is St Peters Church in Kensington Park Road, Notting Hill

He usually runs three times a week, covering a distance of around 10 miles each time. Among his highlights so far have been the Arup Building in Fitzrovia and Cadogan Square in Knightsbridge.

Costin, who works in Paddington and Reading, has covered about 50% of the required route in the City of London, 46% in Kensington and Chelsea and 41% of Westminster .

He continued: “When I came up with the idea and told people they didn’t really understand what I was doing. But when I explained it to them they thought it was a great idea and have been supporting me.

During the challenge he has also taken part in the Vitality Run 10,000 in Westminster and the North London Half Marathon which finished inside Wembley Stadium .

He is now coming to the tricky part of finding roads he has yet to run on, but his IT skills are helping him out: “There’s some planning involved with this. Now after about 50 runs I have seen a lot of London so I really need to look hard for streets I have never been to before and places I have never visited.

"But I like maps and software so I’m enjoying the run and planning it.”
