Sadiq Khan will be hoping to entertain comedy fans by making a cameo appearance on popular BBC show Citizen Khan in his debut acting performance later this week.
The London Mayor will feature in the first episode of the fifth series which is set to hit screens on November 4 and its sure to get some laughs from viewers.
Playing himself in the scene, Khan is at an England vs Pakistan cricket match at Edgbaston and falls victims to a case of mistaken identity.
The clip shows him being carted away by a police officer as Citizen Khan - played by Adil Ray - hides away after a chance meeting with the Mayor.
Ray, who not only plays the self appointed community leader but also writes the sitcom, said: "It was real pleasure to have Sadiq on the show.
"There’s no end to this man’s talents.
"I could tell this was a real career highlight for him.
"I am sure Citizen Khan fans all over will love this very special moment."
On the day of the shoot, Mayor Khan added: "I was delighted to have the opportunity to appear in Citizen Khan, which is a great show enjoyed by Londoners and viewers across the country.
"I hope people enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed taking part and meeting the fantastic cast."
Many famous actors have delved into politics, with Arnold Schwarzenegger as the governor of California and Ronald Regan being the President of the United States - will Sadiq buck the trend and give up politics to for a life on screen?
