A person has died after they were struck being struck by a Tube train on the Central line .

It happened just before 2pm on Monday (September 25) afternoon.

Much of the London Underground line running to severe delays since.

British Transport Police (BTP) say its officers and paramedics rushed to the station after being called to reports of a person under a train at 1.54pm.

However, the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and at this early stage of investigation, officers are working to establish the person’s identity and inform next of kin.

A file will be prepared for the coroner.

The incident has had a knock-on effect on the London Underground, with the Central line initially closed eastbound between White City and Liverpool Street stations. Marble Arch station was also closed.

The station and the line fully reopened at 2.45pm, but is now running with severe delays.

Transport for London (TfL) says tickets are being accepted on local buses, Chiltern Railways, Great Western Rail, TfL Rail and Greater Anglia.
