A person is believed to have been struck by a train at Marble Arch tube station.

British Transport Police confirmed they were in attendance at the Central Line station on Monday (September 25) at around 2pm.

They responded to calls alongside London Ambulance Service, who are also on the scene of the incident.

Marble Arch station is closed and services are suspended.

Minor delays on Central line

TfL has downgraded its delays on the Central line from ‘Severe’ to ‘Minor’.

No details of victim

British Transport Police has yet to provide any information on the person who died on the tracks at Marble Arch.

Details such as age and gender have not been released yet.

Officers said earlier today that they were trying to identify the victim and trace next of kin

As we near the evening rush hour, TfL is still reporting severe delays on the Central line.

Central line and Marble Arch reopen

TfL has told getwestlondon that trains are once again stopping at Marble Arch station, and that the part-suspension has been lifted.

However, passengers are warned of severe delays

Tickets being accepted on buses

As a result of the delays, TfL say tickets will be valid on local buses, Chiltern Railways, Great Western Rail and Greater Anglia.

The tragic incident is having a predictable impact on Central line trains.

'Not suspicious'

BTP added that the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

Its officers are now working to establish the person’s identity and inform their family.

A file will also be prepared for the coroner.

Its officers attended along with members of the London Ambulance Service but the person was pronounced dead at the scene
