A man's body has been pulled from the water in Ealing.

The man's body was recovered from the Grand Union Canal close to Three Bridges, in Windmill Lane, Southall , on Sunday (July 24) morning.

A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said the death is being treated as "unexplained" by detectives from Ealing CID, who are investigating.

She said officers believed they knew the man's identity but his next of kin had yet to be informed.

Police and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service were called to the scene at 10.10am to reports of a body in the canal.

The man's body was pulled from the water and he was pronounced dead at 10.43am.

Police said a post-mortem examination and formal identification would be scheduled in due course.

There are several barges moored near the spot where the man's body was found, which is close to Glade Lane Canalside Park and Osterley Sports Club.
