A man sustained several injuries following the collapse of an internal wall in a four-storey building in Hounslow.

The male, whose age is not known, was rushed to to a major trauma centre as priority, the London Ambulance Service (LAS) has said.

Paramedics treated him for leg and chest injuries after the incident at a shop with flats above on the High Street.

The man was rescued by fire crews after becoming trapped inside shortly after the incident was reported on Monday (August 21) afternoon.

A LAS spokesperson said: “We were called at 12.17pm to reports of an injured person on High Street, Hounslow.

“We treated a man for leg and chest injuries at the scene and he was taken to a major trauma centre as a priority.”

A single responder in a car, an incident response officer, members of the Hazardous Area Response Team, an ambulance crew and an advanced trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.

The fire service said it was called at 12.37pm to a shop and flats where an internal wall had collapsed and one man was trapped.
