A man is in a serious condition after he was stabbed at a shop in Bedfont over the weekend.

The 29-year-old is said to be in a serious condition after being rushed to a central London hospital in the early hours of Sunday (June 14) morning.

Police said they were called by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) at 1.50am to a commercial premises in Staines Road following reports of a man suffering from stab wounds.

The incident is believed to have happened at Emerald Supermarket.

The road was closed off between New Road and Bedfont Lane until late on Sunday night.

Safer neighbourhood officers will be patrolling the area on Monday (June 15) if residents wish to speak to them.

This is the second stabbing in three days, after a teenage boy, aged 16, was stabbed near Crane Park, in Hanworth, on Thursday (June 11) night.

Police enquiries continue.
