A man is in hospital after being stabbed in Southall in the early hours of the morning.

The victim, in his 40s, was taken to a central London hospital to be treated for his wounds, which are not thought to be life threatening.

Two men were arrested nearby shortly after.

The attack happened in West Avenue at about 3.20am. Police have also closed off a section of Southall Broadway as part of the investigation.

The closure in Southall Broadway, between the South Road and Abotts Road junctions, caused traffic misery for motorists during rush hour. They are also having to contend with works on the road meaning it is now one-way. Drivers will only be able to travel eastbound in Southall Broadway until Christmas while work on the £11 million project to improve the area continues.

Anyone with information about the stabbing should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
