A man is in a life-threatening condition in hospital after being struck by a train in Kilburn .

Officers from British Transport Police were called to Kilburn High Road station at around 1.45pm on Wednesday (October 4) to reports of a person being struck by a train.

London Ambulance Service attended the incident and the man was taken to hospital where he is said to be in a life-threatening condition.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said: "We sent a single responder in a car, an incident response officer, an ambulance crew and an Advanced Paramedic to the scene.

"We resuscitated a man at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre as a priority."

Transport for London (TfL) reported bus diversions due to the closure of Abbey Road.

Posting to Twitter, TfL said: "Routes 139 189 are diverted in both directions following Abbey Road, NW8 closure South of Belsize Road due to a person fallen from bridge."

At 3.16pm, they reported buses had returned to their normal service.

There are severe delays on the London Overground between London Euston and Willesden Junction and minor delays between Willesden Junction and Watford Junction due to the earlier incident.

Officers are not treating the incident as suspicious.
