A man was pulled from the ice-cold water after being pushed into a canal in Paddington .

The 53-year-old was walking along towpath outside Brindley House in Alfred Road on Tuesday (February 23) when he was shoved into the Grand Union Canal at about 6.30pm, police said.

He was helped out by passersby and taken to hospital, where he was treated for cuts and bruises before being discharged.

The victim was walking towards Ladbroke Grove when he was pushed, and the suspects are described as black men, aged in their late teens or early 20s.

Police in Westminster, who are investigating, said there have been no arrests and enquiries continue.
