A pedestrian is still fighting for his life after he was hit by a car while crossing a road in West Kensington on Wednesday (November 23).

Police say the male, in his 20s, remains in a critical state following the crash which saw a black Audi A3 collide into four men on North End Road.

Two other men in their 20s, and a male aged 56, were also hurt, but their injuries have been described as non-life threatening.

Jamal Hassan had crossed the road moments before the men were injured, and helped stop the critically injured pedestrian .

He wrapped his T-shirt and jacket around his bleeding head to stem the heavy flow, before he was joined by a passing GP who helped before paramedics arrived.

“Everyone was screaming, there were kids around with their parents coming home from work," he said.

"It really was like a scene from a movie when car hits people and they go off in different directions.”

Another witness said: “It was horrific. I’ve never seen anything like this. One person was bleeding bad, too much blood was coming out from his head injury.”
