A man in his 50s pulled from the canal in Brentford has been rushed to hospital.

Paramedics treated a male in his 50s for cardiac arrest and was taken as priority to West Middlesex Hospital.

Emergency services were called around midday on Friday (January 22) to the Grand Union Canal near Durham Wharf Drive in Brentford.

A police spokesman said:“Police and ambulance were called to reports of a person in the water.”

A London Ambulance Service spokesman added: “We were called at 11.50am on Friday (January 22) morning to reports of a person in the water at the Grand Union Canal near Durham Wharf Drive in Brentford.

“We sent a number of resources to the scene including the hazardous area response team and an advanced paramedic.

“We treated a man reported to be in his fifties in cardiac arrest. He was taken as a priority to West Middlesex Hospital.”

Getwestlondon received a tip-off stating: “They’ve just pulled a body from the canal outside Durham Wharf Drive, Brentford. Police, fire and ambulance are all still here.”

The London Fire Brigade, paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and police were all at the scene.
