A man accused of murdering a woman in Acton has pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Michael Meanza was charged with murder on July 28 after the body of Jenny Foote was found at a hostel, in Perryn Road, a day earlier.

He appeared, via video link, at the Old Bailey on Friday (October 16) where he entered a not guilty plea to one charge.

During the hearing, the judge informed Mr Meanza of his charge, to which he repeated the words "not guilty" three times.

The 47-year-old will be back in court on February 22 for a trial.
