A man was gunned down and killed on the street in Harlesden on Wednesday night (March 9).

It happened on Church Road at the junction with Conley Road just before 10pm. The man, in his late 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect is believed to have made his way from the scene in a car.

The road and surrounding area has been closed and cordoned off while police investigate.

Metropolitan Police and paramedics were called to reports of a shooting at 9.58pm. Armed officers and ambulance crew attended and found a man with gun shot injuries. No formal identification has taken place and next of kin have not been informed.

A spokesperson said: “At this early stage of inquiries officers believe the man was shot by a male suspect who fled the scene in a vehicle.”

Video has emerged, captured at the scene shortly after the fatal shooting, of the moment a mother screamed at the emergency services that the victim was her son.

The investigation is being led by detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command. No arrests have been made.
