A man in his 50s has been found dead in the back of an abandoned car in Northolt .

The Metropolitan Police was called by London Ambulance Service to an alleyway near Oldfield Circus after a dead body was found in a vehicle.

He was found by emergency services at around 5.47pm on Wednesday (December 21).

One witness, who lives near the alleyway and wanted to remain anonymous, said: “Yesterday around 6pm I saw a paramedic coming down our alleyway.

"Then an ambulance came and I wondered what was going on.

“They have people come and drink and smoke and do all sorts of stuff there, so I thought it was the usual.

“[The police] cordoned the whole place where the person and the car was.

“We saw that the person passed away.”

Officers attended and found a man, believed to be in his 50s, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Met Police said the body was discovered in an abandoned vehicle.

He has not been formally identified and his next of kin have not yet been informed.

A post mortem examination was due to be held at Uxbridge Mortuary on Thursday (December 22).

The death is currently being treated as unexplained.
