A driver who crashed his car into a lamppost in the early hours of Wednesday morning (April 20) was found stab wounds to his arms and legs.

Police say the incident happened in Harrow Road, near Ladbroke Grove , at around 2.45am.

It occurred less than three hours after another man, aged 21, was taken to hospital in a serious condition after he was stabbed while sitting in a car in nearby St Helens Gardens.

Both incidents are now being investigated by the Met’s Trident and Area Crime Command, which tackles gang violence in London. However, at this early stage they are not viewed as being linked.

Paramedics attended and treated the 23-year-old man before he was taken to hospital in central London. His injuries, to his arms and legs, are not thought to be serious.

Witnesses reported seeing a black car parked in the middle of the road, which drove off before police arrived.

No arrests have been made, and enquiries continue.
