Hounslow Police is appealing for information following an attempted robbery in which a victim in an electric wheelchair was "assaulted with a knife" in the street.

According to police , on Thursday (October 12) at around 1pm in the afternoon, an individual approached the victim from behind in Heath Road, Hounslow.

Launching the appeal on Facebook on Tuesday evening (October 17), the force said: "She demanded he hand his bag over and when he refused was assaulted with a knife.

"Did you witness this incident?"

The victim sustained a cut to the hand as a result of the assault.

getwestlondon has approached police for further comment.

Anyone with information relating to the incident is asked to call police in Hounslow on 0208 247 6160, quoting 0522359/17 as a crime reference number.
