The body of a man was found by firefighters called to tackle a blaze at an allotment in Isleworth on Sunday night (March 15).

London Fire Brigade (LFB) was called to the blaze in Crane Avenue just after 9pm. About 18 firefighters from Heston, Twickenham and Southall fire stations attended and had the fire under control just before 10.30pm.

A number of sheds were destroyed by the flames and the man's body was found by firefighters, an LFB spokesman told getwestlondon.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by London Ambulance Service.

It is not known at this stage whether the fire is being treated as suspicious and the man has not yet been named.
