A man rescued from a fire in a second-floor flat in Shepherd's Bush has died in hospital.

The man was rescued from the flat, in Coningham Road, on Monday (October 12) by London Fire Brigade (LFB) crews wearing breathing apparatus.

He was treated at the scene by the London Ambulance Service and then taken to hospital.

But he tragically died in hospital on Tuesday (October 13).

Hammersmith fire crews were called to the scene at 4.19pm and managed to bring the blaze under control by 4.47pm.

A LFB spokesman said part of the second-floor flat was damaged by the fire and the cause has not as yet been identified.
