A man has died after suffering a cardiac arrest on a bus outside Perivale underground station on Monday morning.

Despite the efforts of paramedics from London Ambulance Service (LAS), the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was travelling on the 297 bus in Horsenden Lane, Perivale , at the time.

The Metropolitan Police said they were called by LAS at 8.50am to reports of a male collapsed on a bus.

An LAS spokeswoman said: "We were called at 8.48am to Perivale underground station to reports of a man in cardiac arrest.

"We sent a number of staff to the scene including two ambulance crews and two single responders in cars.

"Sadly despite the efforts of the ambulance crew a patient died at the scene."

No other details about the man are known at this stage.
