A person died on Wednesday (Jan 28) morning after a car collided into a pedestrian and two vehicles.

The man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at Empire Way in Wembley, which occurred shortly before 7am. He has yet to be formally identified, but next of kin has been informed and a post mortem will take place in due course.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and taken to a police station in north London. He has since been released on bail.

London Air Ambulance attended the scene, which caused major traffic disruption around the area, but were unable to save the man’s life.

The fatality comes in the same week that a biker was taken to hospital in critical condition following a rush hour accident in West Drayton, and an elderly man sustained head injuries after being hit by a car in Harrow.

The police Serious Collision Unit is appealing for witnesses and people with information to yesterday’s accident to come forward.

Anyone who can help can call the incident room on 020 8991 9555 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 .
