A man in his 30s has died after a collision with a parked lorry on the A40.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the crash in the A40 Western Avenue, Denham, which caused traffic chaos for commuters on Tuesday, February 2.

The incident took place at about 3am when a white Skoda Octavia, travelling eastbound on the M40 where it merges into the A40, collided with a heavy goods vehicle which was parked in a layby.

The driver of the Skoda, a man in his 30s, who was the only person in the car, died at the scene. The lorry driver was not injured.

The road was closed in the area while emergency services attended the scene. One lane remains closed on the A40 eastbound towards central London. There is congestion in the area and motorists are advised to take an alternative route.

PC Julia Stroud, of the serious collision investigation unit, told Getbucks : “The cause of the collision is under investigation and we would like to speak to anyone who saw the collision or who saw the Skoda travelling prior to the incident.

“If anyone has any information please contact police to speak to the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.”
