A man has died in a house fire in Ealing .

Flames swept through a terraced house in Chaucer Road, Acton , on Saturday (August 6) morning.

Firefighters were called to the property shortly after 6am, and crews wearing breathing apparatus rescued a woman from the first floor.

But a man was found dead at the three-storey house, where part of the second floor was damaged in the blaze.

London Fire Brigade said it was called at 6.06am and sent 21 firefighters in four engines from Acton, Ealing, Hammersmith and Southall fire stations. It said the incident was over at 7.28am.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

On Thursday (August 4), four adults and two children escaped from a house in Southall as flames tore through the property.

Four people were taken to hospital in a critical condition after a house in Harrow went up in flames on Tuesday (August 2).
