A man who was gunned down at a party in the early hours of Friday morning, died in hospital only a few hours later.

The 20 year-old victim, who is yet to be identified, died from a gun shot wound to the chest after an altercation at an address in Mulberry Court, just of Elgar Avenue in Neasden.

Police were called to an address in Elgar Avenue after reports of gun shots, but the victim was not there, it was only a few hours later, police were notified that he was at a north west London hospital, he died at 9.40am.

Police are appealing for information and witnesses to help with the murder investigation.

Three people were arrested near the scene, a 22 year-old man a 49 year-old man and a 49 year-old woman, they were all arrested on suspicion of murder but later bailed.

Another man, 27, was arrested later on in the day on suspicion of murder but was also bailed.

Next of kin are aware, and although officers believe they know who the deceased is they await a formal identification.

The Homicide and Major Crime Command is investigating and an incident room has opened in Lewisham under Detective Chief Inspector Graeme Gwyn.
