A man had to be cut free from a car after a crash which is believed to have involved two lorries.

Police said they were called to Twickenham Road in Isleworth on Thursday at 3.53pm following a reported collision between a car and the two large vehicles.

They said a man was trapped in a car and had to be cut free by firefighters before being taken to a central London hospital.

His injuries were not believed to be serious, they added.

The crash happened near the junction with Amhurst Road, outside West Middlesex Hospital.

Police said at 5pm that road closures were in place, and Transport for London (TfL) said bus routes 117, 267, 481 and H28 were subject to delay and diversion.

Hounslow Police advised motorists to steer clear of the area this evening as congestion was likely.

A spokeswoman for the London Ambulance Service (LAS) said it was called at 3.44pm and sent a crew which arrived within two minutes.

She could not confirm the number of patients treated at this stage but said he/they were taken to hospital but not as a priority.
