A young man from Isleworth has conquered an ultra duathlon to raise funds for children's charities after being touched by the story of a little boy.

Rob Bright of Woodland Gardens completed his 300 mile challenge which saw him run and cycle over four days from Thursday May 25 to Sunday May 28.

The 25-year-old who works for Heston Blumenthal at The Perfectionists Cafe at Heathrow Terminal 2 hopes to reach his target to raise £5,000 for Starlight Children's Foundation and ACROSS.

Mr Bright who has already run eight marathons including the London Marathon , was moved to support Starlight after reading about the wish they granted to a little boy called Josh.

He said: "Josh’s story really touched me and it made me realise why I do challenges; to help worthwhile charities like Starlight make life better for seriously ill children and their families.

He trained seven days a week to ensure he was in the best shape to complete the ultra-duathlon.

Starlight Children’s Foundation is a national charity that grants wishes for seriously ill children.

ACROSS is a charity that provides a 10 day pilgrimage to Lourdes for the sick and disabled.
