Man breached restraining order and assaulted woman

Police say Aaron Mason of Ladbroke Grove was jailed for the assault, breaching his order and resisting arrest.

A man who repeatedly breached his restraining order and assaulted a woman has been jailed, police said.

Aaron Mason, 34, of Golborne Road, W10, appeared at Isleworth Crown court on October 16 where he was sentenced to 49 weeks in prison for eight counts of breaching his restraining order, assault and resisting arrest.

He was convicted of the offences at an earlier hearing at Hammersmith Magistrates’ Court , the Met said.

In July 2012, Mason was issued a restraining order against contacting a 30-year-old woman.

However, the court was told that between June 2015 and August 2015 he breached the restraining order on eight occasions resulting in the woman having to contact police. During one of these breaches she was also assaulted.

On August 5, police received a call from the woman that Mason was outside her home. Officers arrived on scene but the defendant had left.

He was seen shortly afterwards cycling on Holland Road. He initially ran from the officers and when being detained tried to assault them whist shouting abuse.

Detective Constable Chris Coen from Kensington and Chelsea Police, said: "The seriousness of breaching restraining orders issued at court can not be underestimated. The victim was clearly left traumatised by the incident but hopefully knowing Mason is serving time in prison will go some way in helping her move forward with her life."
