A man allegedly threatened to kill a police officer after they were called to an illegal rave on the site of a primary school in Stanmore.

Party-goers held an unlicensed music event at a disused building at Aylward Primary School, in Pangbourne Drive, Stanmore, on Saturday (May 6) night.

Police were called at around 10.30pm but decided not to enter the ongoing event to "to prevent serious disorder and disruption on the streets surrounding the location".

The party went on until the early hours of Sunday morning (May 7), with ravers only leaving the venue at 5.45am.

Harrow Police tweeted this warning in the middle of the night:

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "Officers attended the scene and found a large number of people already inside the venue, as well as others attempting to gain entry to the building.

"Throughout the time that officers were on scene, their main priority was to ensure the safety of those both inside and outside the venue, while working to bring the event to a timely conclusion.

"There were no reports of any incidents of disorder."

However, one man was arrested on suspicion of threats to kill a police officer, and was taken to a north London police station for questioning.
