A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a fatal stabbing in Isleworth .

A 28-year-old man, named locally as Sahil Roy, was pronounced dead at the scene on Sunday (April 10) after police were called to reports of a stabbing in Summerwood Road, Isleworth .

Police said on Monday (April 11) that a 22-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of murder and was in custody at a south London police station.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC) are investigating.

Friends have paid tribute to the victim, whom one man described as a "friendly giant".

Police said they were called at 4.05am on Sunday to Summerwood Road, Isleworth, following reports of a man suffering from a stab injury.

They said police officers had attended, along with the London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance, and a 28-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene at 5.18pm.

Police said the man's next of kin had been informed and they were awaiting formal identification. They added that a post-mortem examination would be held in due course.
