A man wanted in connection with a number of alleged knifepoint robberies in Acton has been arrested following a police appeal.

Hussam El-Handi, 19, was arrested yesterday (Thursday, November 5) on suspicion of robbery and taken to a west London police station, where police said he remains in custody.

Police had appealed earlier this week for the public's help to find Mr El-Handi following a string of alleged robberies in Hillcrest Road, Acton, on Monday (November 2).

Laurrent Sango, 20, of Shrewsbury Street, W10, had already been arrested in connection with the alleged offences.

He appeared at Ealing Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, November 4, charged with two counts of robbery, one attempted robbery and one count of threatening with an offensive weapon. He was remanded in custody to appear at Isleworth Crown Court on December 1.
