Detectives investigating a fatal collision near Shepherd's Bush have made an arrest.

Darren February was arrested yesterday (December 15), on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in custody at a central London police station.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 4.58am on Monday (December 14) to reports of a collision between a car and a motorcyclist in St Ann's Road at the junction with Swanscomb Road.

Officers attended and the motorcyclist, a 52-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of car had left the scene before police arrived.

Police await formal identification. Next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigating Unit are investigating and are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to call 020 8247 6935, 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
