A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following a manhunt on Monday (July 27).

Detectives were searching for schizophrenia sufferer Michael Meanza, 47, following the discovery of a woman’s body in a building in Perryn Road, Acton, on Monday morning.

Police launched a murder investigation after being called at 6.40am to reports of an injured woman, aged in her 30s, at the location.

London Ambulance Service attended but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Next of kin has been informed but we await formal identification.

A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

Police say that they believe the location is a supported living service for vulnerable people and that the victim was a member of staff.

Meanza was a resident at the hostel and had not been seen since around 6.30am on Monday morning when he left the premises.

Police launched a manhunt and Meanza was later arrested in the Ealing area.

He was arrested on suspicion of murder and remained in custody on Monday afternoon.

A Met Police spokesman said: "We thank the public and the media for their assistance."
