A man has been arrested after flammable liquid was thrown into Wembley Police station, forcing it to be closed while officers investigated the shocking incident.

According to the Metropolitan Police , a man threw the liquid into the station's reception on Saturday (August 13).

Thankfully, though, the liquid was not ignited.

The reception area of the police station was closed off to the public while the force examined the area.

A Met Police statement on Twitter shortly after the incident read: "Following an incident at Wembley police station the front counter services are currently unavailable."

Officers later confirmed that no one was injured and the incident was dealt with quickly.

While there is no evidence to suggest the incident in Wembley is terrorism-related, Met Police officers have been undergoing training on dealing with attacks in the capital.

The force released a video last week explaining to the public how officers are prepared to stand up to the threat in the wake of attacks in Nice and Paris, among others.
