A man has appeared in court accused of the murder of a woman found stabbed in Rayners Lane.

Forty eight-year-old Trevor Gibbon of Windsor Crescent, Rayners Lane, appeared at Hendon Magistrates' Court on December 20 after being charged with the murder of Alison Morrison.

He was arrested in Lincolnshire after allegedly stabbing Mrs Morrison, vice chairman of Harrow Safer Neighbourhood Board.

She was found stabbed in Alexandra Avenue, and died later that morning.

In a statement, her family said: "Alison was an inspiration, a warm and loving person who will be deeply missed by her husband and son.

"Her devastating loss as a result of this senseless attack is also felt by all the family, local community and all who knew her.

"We would like to thank the police and emergency services for their support and ask that the family's privacy be respected at this time."
