Two cars were involved in a collision in Chelsea early on Thursday (December 1) morning.

The accident happened in Beaufort Street at the junction with Cheyne Walk, at around 5.30am.

Two people suffered injuries described as minor by Met police , and it is not thought they required hospital treatment.

However, the accident has led to serious traffic delays in the area throughout the day, with reports of damage to the road.

According to Transport for London, the incident has resulted in westbound restrictions on Chelsea Embankment with traffic being held on Battersea Bridge and Beaufort Street.

Other reports say congestion is stretching back to the Royal Hospital Road junction on Chelsea Embankment, and on Albert bridge to the Parkgate Road junction.
