A crash on the M40 near Uxbridge has caused miles of delays during rush our on Wednesday morning (March 8).

The collision happened on the carriageway heading out of London at around 8.30am and involved four cars and a lorry.

Fire crews were called to the scene but no one was trapped in the incident.

One man was injured while two other men and two women were unharmed.

Still no time scale

Affinity Water have still not provided any time scale for when the repair work is likely to be completed.

Update from Affinity

Affinity provided an update on the Hillingdon incident at around 11.50am.

They said a technician has assessed the burst and a repair team are on their way to carry out the necessary work in order to restore supplies to normal.

While this repair is carried out, Affinity are diverting water from other areas to minimise impact on customers water supply, however this may be at a lower pressure than normal.

They also advised residents to store some water for drinking, in case your water has to be switched off for a repair to be completed.

They added: “We are sorry for the inconvenience caused.”

The crash during rush hour this morning has been cleared and all lanes are now reopen.

The M40 is now all clear after this morning’s crash.

We are still waiting on further details from Thames Valley Police about the crash.

Fire department were on the scene

The fire service in Buckinghamshire were on the scene of the crash at around 8.30am this morning.

A statement from Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters made the scene safe after a collision involving four cars and a lorry, M40 northbound between junctions 1 (Denham) and 1a (M25 interchange).

“One appliance and crew from Gerrards Cross attended. No-one was trapped.”

A man was injured in the crash and two other men and two women were unharmed.

Lanes reopened but still traffic in the area

All lanes have reportedly reopened but there are still around two miles of delays with congestion along to the A40 at Swakeleys Roundabout.
