Commuters are experiencing severe delays on the M4 westbound due to an accident.

Transport for London are warning of "long delays" following the collision between junction 3 and 4.

Delays continue

Traffic is still queuing in both directions on the M4.

There is queuing traffic for two miles on the westbound carriageway between Heston Services and junction 4 for the A408 (Heathrow Spur).

On the eastbound carriageway motorists are experiencing delays between junction 4 for the A408 (Heathrow Spur) and junction 3 for the A312 (Hayes).

No reported injuries

A spokesman from the Met Police said:

The broken down car was involved in a collision.

Multiple vehicles are involved, believed to be five.

London Ambulance also attended the scene and there are no reported injuries

Police attended the scene to recover a vehicle.

A spokesman for the Met Police said:

We were called to the scene at just after 7.00am to reports of a driver with issues with his vehicle.

All lanes have now reopened

Transport for London are reporting that the M4 has now reopened westbound at junction 3.

Congestion remains on the M4 and also both ways on the A312 The Parkway.
