A crash between a lorry and a car on a busy stretch of the M4 in Hillingdon caused delays for motorists this morning.
The accident happened between westbound between junction 4 (Heathrow Spur/Uxbridge) and junction 4b (M25) just before 9am on Thursday (February 16).
The condition of both the drivers is not yet known.
Two lanes were blocked for more than an hour while emergency services dealt with the incident.
Then the road was down to one lane whilst recovery took place.
As a result heavy traffic with queues around three miles and congestion to junction 3 (Hayes) were reported.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "We were called by the London Ambulance Service to reports of a road traffic collision between a car and a lorry at 8.53am on the M4 J4B."
All lanes have now reopened and the incident has been cleared.
