The M25 is likely to be heavily congested near Hillingdon during rush hour after a lorry and a car collided at around 4pm on Thursday (April 13).

Highways England posted a picture online of a car facing the wrong direction on the road with a lorry facing it between Junction 16 and 17.

Delays have built up back to Junction 17 because of the crash on the anticlockwise carriageway.

Highways England said: "Two lanes are closed on the M25 anti-clockwise between J17-J16 due to a collision involving a car and an HGV. Delays building back to J17."

This is the second crash on this stretch of the motorway in a day, after drivers were rescued from their cars on Thursday morning.

Here is the scene on the roads around Hillingdon as of 4.50pm.

The M40 doesn’t seem to bad at the moment but the M25 is slow moving in both directions past Uxbridge. The M4 also looks congested at Heathrow.
