Vadims Ruskuls, 25, a Latvian national of no fixed address was convicted on Tuesday (April 11) for sexually assaulting and killing the 30-year-old before dumping her body.

On Tuesday (April 11) shocking CCTV footage was released showing the "violent and dangerous" man was released.

Ruskuls was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 30 years at the Old Bailey on Wednesday April 12.

Charlie Gard: Judge rules doctors can take baby off life-support against parents' wishes

On Tuesday (April 11), despite strong opposition, a High Court judge told the parents of eight-month-old Charlie Gard, that doctors can remove his life-support .

The decision came after doctors at Great Ormond Street Hospital disagreed with parents, Chris Gard and Connie Yates' plans to take Charlie to a hospital in the United States for experimental treatment for mitochondrial disease.

The parents' barrister argued that Charlie should be given the chance to improve and that the treatment would not cause him to suffer significant harm.

M25 crash: Drivers rescued after being trapped in cars following three vehicle collision

Traffic backed up more than nine miles to Junction 16 at Uxbridge.

Commuters on the M25 clockwise faced delays of more than an hour following a three-vehicle crash on the M25 on Thursday (April 13).

One person was taken to Watford General Hospital with "what is believed to have been minor injuries" according to East of England Ambulance Service.

The crash, between Junctions 18 (Chorleywood) and 19 (Watford), led to two of the four lanes closing and tailbacks of more than nine miles, stretching back to Junction 16 for the M40 (Uxbridge).

Hayes house fire

We brought you updates of a house fire in Hayes which was attended by around 60 firefighters.

The major house fire on Monday afternoon (April 10) left no casualties, according to the fire brigade.

Fire crews were called to the scene at 12.22pm after a house caught fire, and the blaze quickly spread to four other houses.

At its peak, 60 officers and eight fire engines were called to the scene from Hillingdon, Northolt and surrounding areas, but the fire service confirmed on Tuesday (April 11) that no one was injured.
