A warm spring isn't in sight for mid-April as cloudy skies are predicted to settle over London.
Odd spots of rain are forecast for Monday (April 18) evening, continuing on into Tuesday.
Some sunshine is due to make an appearance Tuesday lunch time and Wednesday, but warmer intervals are set to be punctuated by rain Thursday and Friday.
It is at least a moderate improvement on the promised heavy April showers that indeed arrived in the capital last week.
Describing the outlook towards the end of the week, a spokesperson for the Met Office said: "Wednesday and Thursday look dry with some sunshine, perhaps the odd shower Thursday.
"It might be warmer than recently but chilly at night.
"Friday is probably cloudy with some rain and breezy at times."
The UK basked in temperatures of 18C and sunshine earlier in the month, but cooler and more wintry conditions arrived in Britain for the start of the weekend, with some areas even seeing snow on Saturday morning.
Average temperatures for London in April are marked as 13 degrees celsius, with this week exceeding it to reach 15 and 16 degrees mid-week.
However, meteorologists have forecast a colder week as the month comes to an end, with the mercury tipping towards 10 degrees, marking it cooler than the average temperature for London at this time of year.
